PTO CLUTCHES (Power Take-Offs)



POWER TAKE-OFFS are suitable for application to all internal combusion engines with standard SAE flywheel housing dimensions from SAE 6 to SAE 000.  The PTO's contain clutches from one plate 6 - 1/2" to one plate 14"; in two plate size from 11-1/2" to 18"; and in three plate size from 14" to 21"
A Power Take-Off consists of a complete clutch assembly with shaft and bearings mounted in a cast iron housing that provides for easy engine installation.

Scope: PTO clutch, housing and shaft assembly, drive ring, pilot bearing, hand lever and shaft key in output shaft.

 Power ratings can be increased by optional sintered-iron plates for SAE 11.5 and 14 drives.

Light Duty : (inline drive only)
Primarily used for disconnection and pickup of light inertia loads.  Clutch engages in less than two (2) seconds and ON, OFF frequency 5 times per hour foruniform loads.  Inline drives.
eg. Centrifugal pumps, blowers, conveyors, generators, bucket elevators, etc.

Medium Duty:
Used to start inertia loads up to 60 engagements per hour.  Clutch engages within three (3) seconds for non uniform loads.
e.g. Pumps 2 cylinder or more, feeders, hoists and cranes, rice and ball mills, reciprocating pumps, compressors, etc.

Heavy Duty:
Inernal loads for frequencies up to 180 engagements per hour.  Clutch engages within four (4) seconds for reciprocating and vibratory loads.
e.g. Reciprocating feeders and compressors, hammer mills, rock crushers, paper mill machinery, mud pumps
